What problems do you treat?

We do general therapy where some of our therapists focus on specific specialties. You can get help for anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress management, and trauma.

How much do you charge?

We are happy to provide a free phone consultation before you decide to schedule an appointment with one of us. Your initial session will be an intake session which involves discussing the problem you come to therapy with, a thorough history, treatment options, and creating a personalized treatment plan. Our therapists have different fees for intake and sessions. You can find more information about fees on our Counseling page.

Why don’t you take insurance?

The answer is a bit complicated. Billing for insurance takes a lot of time and money to get on the panels themselves. There’s a lot of “behind the scenes” that you as a client don’t see. Generally, insurance does everything they can to not pay- that means lots of changing codes, applying, reapplying, arguing, and more. Many offices have a full-time person just to handle this! Because HealingChoice is just us, we can’t deal with this and hope to also do therapy and keep the lights on. Insurance companies also require a lot of information about your care, which I really don’t like sharing with others. Often, they also try to tell us how to treat our patients. We can better safeguard your privacy and your program if we’re not involved there. In short, the less time we spend dealing with insurance companies is more time we can spend on you!

What is therapy like?

It might be uncomfortable, but we try to make it as comfortable as possible. Facing things that have been bothering you is often difficult, especially with someone you don’t know. We will not push you into something you aren’t ready for. We want to help you live life without the problem you come to us with.

What if I don’t really like you?

Sometimes that happens. Sometimes I’m not the right personality fit for you. If we find that is the case, we can recommend someone else for you. We don’t take it personally. It’s important to us that you get the help you need from whoever makes you comfortable.
